The Sports Quarter is a once-in-a-generation opportunity, located in the heart of East Birmingham, which will unlock significant benefits for the local area and communities.
It’s an investment in Birmingham, shaped by Birmingham, for Birmingham’s future.
The area
The vision
Working with the local community, we want to create a whole new neighbourhood for East Birmingham, featuring exciting spaces and improved transport links that will benefit residents and the wider region. Our ambition is that the Sports Quarter will include a mix of new facilities – from leisure and entertainment to retail and wellbeing – as well as improved public and green areas and dedicated spaces for the community.
It will bring new housing into the area and jobs at every level. Building on our city’s strong heritage in sports, the Sports Quarter will also be a new home for Birmingham City Football Club, with world-class stadiums and training facilities.
WORKING WITHTHE COMMUNITY
We have big plans for the area and this will be a project of national significance. But we know we can make our initial plans even better with the help of people who live here.
